Thermage, new-age skin tightening leads the way in the battle against ageing
10th June, 2013
In a recent interview (YOU Magazine, 17th March 2013) Gwyneth admits to having undergone Thermage treatment for anti-ageing - realising what we have known for some time, that intense radio frequency therapy can help to turn back time.
Folds, sags and bags? Rejuvenate with the upgraded, non surgical skin toning system, Thermage CPT, from Solta Medical. It's faster and better, treating four times more tissue than any other skin tightening device on the market.
How does Thermage work?
Only one treatment required. Radio frequency waves are delivered to the deep dermis, which causes a heat reaction. The body automatically tries to heal the heated tissues, and this process results in collagen production, which in turn improves the texture, elasticity and supporting matrix of the skin. Skin is left contoured, smooth, and taught.
Expect to feel some discomfort during the treatment, but, new skin cooling properties mean you can achieve good results without too much distress! The latest addition to improve the Thermage experience is the'CPT' (Comfort Pulse Technology) hand piece, which acts on the same principle as Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation ("TENS") therapy. The hand piece interweaves pulsed radio frequency delivery with cooling bursts which disrupts the brain’s responses to pain, improving comfort.
How long do the results last?
You should be able to enjoy the results for around 2-4 years. It’s difficult to predict as we all age at different rates and follow differing lifestyles. As with all cosmetic aesthetic intervention, to get the best from your treatment you should be eating a balanced diet and taking regular exercise.

"I have been using Thermage CPT for some time and have seen some very good results. Best for women 30 - 45 years of age with signs of early ageing, the treatment takes under an hour with no downtime. It is a one off treatment that is very well tolerated thanks to the new cooling hand piece."
