the one stitch facelift as seen in the Daily Mail
(Silhouette Lift)
Angelica comments: “Technological advances are really making their mark in the field of plastic surgery as scientists and manufacturers respond to plastic surgeons’ demand for lesser invasive yet effective anti-ageing treatments. I invest a considerable amount of time researching new techniques as they come to market, cherry picking the most effective and safe procedures to give my patients great, natural results with faster recovery times and minimal scarring. The Silhouette Lift or one stitch facelift is a perfect example and is giving very predictable, natural results with very little downtime.”
Am I a candidate for the one stitch facelift/Silhouette Lift?
This procedure can be used in all areas of the face with results being superior for those with early skin laxity (loosening). Both men and women can take advantage of this innovative procedure.
Sagging jaw lines – flattening eyebrows – uneven eyebrows – loss of cheek definition – mid face sagging – deep nose to mouth lines
What is the one stitch facelift/Silhouette Lift?
Patented long stitches or sutures are gently passed under the skin and anchored in the hair line either behind the ear or in the temple area. This draws loose skin back against gravity towards the hairline, reducing loose skin and leaving smooth natural lines - taking years off the face or jaw.
Made from polypropylene, a material biocompatible with the human body which has been used for many years in cardiovascular and ophthalmic surgery, these sutures are not barbed which avoids any tissue damage. Small, re-absorbable cones spaced along the shaft of the suture anchor themselves in deep tissue, producing a tension which helps to lift sagging areas. Over time tissue forms around the cones which then dissolve leaving the skin and new tissue anchored in place.
With no side effects, the Silhouette Lift sutures avoid problems of movement, breakage and pain which occur with more conventional barbed sutures.
NB: It’s important to discuss your concerns in consultation with your surgeon as some of you may require more than one suture to achieve a good result.
What can I expect afterwards?
Silhouette Lift is a new facelift technique performed under an hour using local anaesthetic with very little downtime. You can resume normal activities within 2 days but might choose to take a week off work as there might be some bruising and swelling around the stitch line.
How long will it last?
Effects should last for around 5 years but your skin will continue to age at its usual rate so longevity does vary per individual
Can I repeat it?
There’s no reason why you can’t have further Silhouette Lifts depending on the amount of loose skin present. As you age fat pads and muscle groups sag along with the external skin and sometimes a more invasive surgical facelift is required to achieve the best result. Angelica will discuss your options with you during consultation.
How much does it cost?
Depends on the number of stitches required but the one stitch facelift starts at £2800
