Macrolane
The latest ‘longer life’ hyaluronic acid from the producers of Restylane is a safe and effective way to replace body volume.
Angelica says: “Plastic surgeons have been waiting for a non-invasive way to improve body contours for some time. Macrolane ticks many of the empty boxes as an effective way to replace body volume losses without the need for anaesthetic. Macrolane works really well for those who seek a less invasive solution to their condition.”
Why would I need an injectable ‘volume replacement’?
Breasts:
Some women with small or empty breasts may have been toying with the idea of breast augmentation (boob job) but the thought of surgery has put them off. Macrolane is the ideal solution as 100mls of product injected under local anaesthetic in Angelica’s office can effectively increase the breasts by approximately one cup size.
Genetic asymmetry – sometimes nature can leave you with one breast bigger than the other; Macrolane can be the non-invasive answer.
Rippling after breast augmentation on slim patients can be disguised with Macrolane injections.
Butts:
Fancy a little of what J-Lo has?
Macrolane with subtle leg liposculpture can give you the buttocks of your dreams. Angelica emphasises buttock curves making a round pert shape with Macrolane which provides a long awaited solution to the nightmare of buttock implants that are riddled with complications such as infection and severe pain.
Dimples and dips:
Through no fault of the practitioner, Liposuction can sometimes leave unfortunate dimples or dips. Macrolane smoothes out the skin contour leaving no tell tale lipo signature.
Benefits of Macrolane
- minimal side effects mainly bruising and swelling for a few days
- minimal post operative ‘down time’ recovery although no rigorous exercise for a week
- Macrolane is great for those ‘unfit’ for general anaesthetic
- It is not permanent therefore you still have the option of a surgical alternative in the future
Draw backs of Macrolane
- It is not the cheap answer to surgery, one treatment of Macrolane can cost up to £2800.00 with a top up required around 9-12 months later for £1400.00
- If it is not topped up it will re-absorb after approximately 18months
- A tiny cut has to be made for the cannula
- It feels firm for 1-2 weeks after the injection but then softens
Practitioners of Macrolane are qualified plastic surgeons and need to receive full training by Q Med before they can administer the product.
Angelica has a certificate in Macrolane administration and can be seen using it on
Embarrassing Illnesses, to be aired April 28th, 2008.
Cost from £2800 for the first treatment and £1400 for touch up
